Academic excellence, critical thinking abilities, and technological competence enable students to develop communication and cooperation skills that empower them to assume
a vital role in society.

The Minnesota Non-Public School Accrediting Association - AMNSAA - recently certified the Cathedral School.  The Cathedral School is recognized by the association as an accredited school and is entitled to the rights and privileges of an accredited school as defined by the Constitution, By-Laws and Policies of the Association. The accreditation is granted through June 20, 2004.

The accreditation eligibility status of Cathedral School will expire as of June 20, 2005. In order for the school to maintain accreditation beyond this date, eligibility will need to be renewed.  The renewal process which occurs every seven years includes a self-study process, the development of a school improvement plan and an on-site visitation.  Laurie Erickson and Ray Dusek attended a workshop in Melrose, MN on Monday, Sept 29th to learn specifically of the responsibilities of member school searching accreditation eligibility renewal. Staff, parents and the administration will be involved in the accreditation process.  Additional information will be forthcoming.

Reading:
Reading is taught in grades Kindergarten through sixth.  The curriculum used is the 1997 Houghton Mifflin Company Series.

Religion:
Religion will be taught each school day by the classroom teacher.  "Walking By Faith" will be the religious series that will be utilized within the classroom. This program offers a learning process that fully engages students, families and teachers at all levels of experience.

Music:
Music is taught by a certified Music Instructor three days a week. Students perform   in a variety of programs two to three times a year.

Physical Education:
State laws require that all pupils particiapte in phycical education classes  to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.

Library:
The Crookston Public Library is intergrated in the curriculum for use by the students.  The Cathedral school also has a library which is open to all students.
