The 6th grade class was busy in school this week dissecting frogs as part of their science class. As you can see, some enjoyed it more than others.

Several Cathedral classes presented a Thanksgiving skit this holiday season before they went home for break.

Mariam Maiga a student at UMC was a guest speaker in the 3rd Grade Classroom at Cathedral School. The students were studying about Timbuktu, Mali in Social Studies class. Mariam was born in Mali and moved to the USA when she was three. She spent time sharing her culture, music, and experiences with the students.

Staff Sargent Mitch Walski and his wife, Sargent Lee Walski, joined the Cathedral School for the annual Veteran's Day Program hosted by the 4th Grade Students. After telling the students about their experience enlisting in the Army as a married couple they demostrated how to stand at attention, salute and do a pushup correctly. They used a slide show to show students what military life was like.

Cathedral School 1st and 3rd Grade Buddies visited the Villa to sing some Halloween songs and share their costumes with the residents.

Cathedral School staff and students participated in the world wide ‘Children of the Eucharist Holy Hour of Adoration’ on Friday, October 3. The children made flags and banners representing countries from the five different regions of the world. The flags were placed in a large M in front of the statue of the Virgin Mary. Each group wore a specific color and led a decade of the rosary to pray for the children in their area.

Mitchell and Maria Olson invited their aunt, Carla Frenzel, from Denver, Colorado to Cathedral School to talk about her visit to Africa. Carla Traveled to Nairobi, Kenya as part of the Colorado Vincentian Volunteers. She lived with the Sisters of Charity in Nairobi and taught English to nursery school children and young adult women in Nairobi. She was instrumental in the planning and building of a Preschool in Nairobi. Carla brought a variety of African memorabilia to share with the children, along with a slide show of the children she worked with and many animals she saw.

Taylor Cymbaluk, Bridget Carlson (both alumni of Cathedral School) and Derek Henre all from the Homecoming Court of CHS came to Cathedral School to encourage the student body to be involved in school activities, show school spirit, and READ to get smart!
